I make websites. That’s the short way to describe what I do, and the way I say it most often. There are loftier ways to describe me, but it just seems presumptuous for me to try to come up with those. I design, art direct, write html, css, php, javascript, and more. I labor over the details. I care deeply about users, clients, and brands. All that falls under “making websites”, so that’s how I think of it. Plus that’s what I tell my mom I do.
I’m also a father, husband, & musician. My lovely and talented wife Megan and my amazing daughter Lyra are the center of my life. I have less time lately for music, but I do like to pull out the upright bass for a midday jazz break whenever I get the chance.
In what seems like a former life I toured the country in bands, and even released some pretty good rekkids.

Mason has worked in many capacities and industries, including site design, PHP and Drupal development, CSS and Drupal Theming, Flash Designer/Developer, and Streaming Media Producer for theaters, museums, performing artists, non profits, and Wall Street.
He is an active member of the Drupal and Philadelphia tech communities. Last year at DrupalCon DC, he was one of the sparks that became the Design for Drupal movement, which is working to bring better design and theming practice to Drupal. He is one of the organizers of Drupaldelphia, and has spoken about Drupal at Drupaldelphia and BarCamp Philadelphia.
He founded Canary Promotion + Design with Megan Wendell in 2001.
